Old Western Culture

Old Western Culture is a robust great-books, dual-credit honors-level curriculum, but it is first and foremost storytelling. Learn, appreciate, and inherit “old Western culture” as C.S. Lewis coined the term.

NEW release from Roman Roads Press! The Old Western Culture Companions accompany each unit of Old Western Culture, with 16 categories of Digressios exploring the art, architecture, poetry, geography, mythology, and much more for each unit.

Old Western Culture Readers
Level: grades 8-12, adults, scholarship, and teacher training.
The Old Western Culture Reader Series features some of the greatest books of Western civilization from Homer’s Iliad to the Novels of the 19th century. Calculus For Everyone: Understanding Physics and the Mathematics of Change, by Dr. Mitch Stokes. A classical, historical approach to mathematics aiming to mend the broken relationship between STEM and the Liberal Arts.

The American Civics Curriculum
Level: grades 8-12, adults, professional training, and college.
It is time for a practical manual on American government written specifically for Christians. In The American Civics Curriculum, Elizabeth Landis explains these often ignored structures of government that the average citizen interacts with every day. Starting with the city and working outward to the county, special districts, state, and nation, Landis inverts the way many Americans think about politics and their role as citizens.

Picta Dicta Latin Primer, Grammar, and Readers
Levels available for grades 3 through college.
Picta Dicta Latin Primer I and II is a first introduction to reading Latin suitable for either elementary or secondary students. Students learn through all four language pathways (reading, writing, speaking, and hearing), which makes it both more enjoyable for them to learn and easier to retain.
Picta Dicta Latin Grammar III and IV is a hybrid digital-print introduction to Latin designed for the secondary level or beyond. Filmmaking from the First Directors
Learn the basics of filmmaking and early film history.
