The Brothers Karamazov

By Dostoevsky with a new introduction by Dulcinea Stutzman

The Brothers Karamazov

$28.95

The Brothers Karamazov is a fundamentally Christian story because the novel’s telos (the ultimate goal or end) is hope: hope in God’s promises,
hope in the future, and ultimately hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Brothers Karamazov encapsulates the lifelong wrestlings of a deeply faithful saint—one who suffered from the death of his mother, financial destitution, epilepsy, a harsh father who was later murdered by serfs, political terrorism, the death of a son, and personal memory loss. As Dostoevsky endured trials and tribulations, his hope was not extinguished; instead, hope overcame his spiritual darkness and doubting. Overwhelmed with the reality of the Gospel, Dostoevsky contained “the burning sense of mission” that drove him to believe that he could participate in saving Russia from imminent doom. With this mission in mind, he composed The Brothers Karamazov, one of the greatest Christian novels of all time.

Product Description

“But everything and all our fates are from the Lord. ‘Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.’ Remember that. …Life will bring you many misfortunes, but you will find your happiness in them, and will bless life and will make others bless it—which is what matters most.”
