Information we collect when you order
When you place an order, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number and what you bought. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored by us. If you pay by check or purchase order, we keep the details needed to process it.

Your account and the Roman Roads app
Many of our products include digital access (videos, eBooks, audiobooks) in the Roman Roads app at app.romanroadspress.com. The app runs on a platform provided by Treefort Systems. To give you access, we share your name, email address and the products you bought with them.

Email
If you join our mailing list or request a free sample or welcome packet, we store your email address and name with Mailchimp to send you those emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Live chat
Our chat window is provided by Tawk.to. If you use it, your messages and any contact details you give are stored with them so we can reply.

Analytics and advertising
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to understand which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and orders, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. These record events such as page views, products viewed, items added to cart and purchases. They may send Meta your email address or phone number in hashed (scrambled) form so Meta can match the event to an account.

We may also share a hashed list of customer email addresses with Meta, either to show our ads to existing customers or to leave them out of ads.

WooCommerce sets cookies (beginning with “sbjs_”) that record how you arrived at our site, such as a link in an email or an ad, and saves that with your order.

You can control the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta ad settings. You can also ask us to leave your email out of any list we share.

Security and site delivery
Our site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare and Wordfence, which process your IP address and browser information to block attacks and spam. Some forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Shipping
We share your name, shipping address and phone number with the shipping carrier that delivers your order.

Embedded content 
Pages may include videos from YouTube, Vimeo or the Roman Roads app, and book previews. These may set their own cookies when you play them.

Who we share your data with 
We share personal information only with the service providers named above, and only to run our store, deliver your products and communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we retain your data 
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, typically 7 years. Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Children
Our website is meant for parents, teachers and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on this site. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

What rights you have over your data
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for marketing, by writing to info [at] roman roads press [dot] com. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state law, and we will honor those requests.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it last changed.
